Notice. Listen. Support.

Our one-day Mental Health Advocate course gives people the practical skills and confidence to recognise when someone may be struggling and offer appropriate, everyday support.

Delegates learn how to
notice changes,
approach someone with confidence,
start a supportive conversation
and listen without feeling they need to diagnose, fix or have all the answers.

The course explores common mental health difficulties, helpful and unhelpful language, appropriate boundaries and how to signpost someone towards further support when needed.

The emphasis is on early, supportive conversations — helping people feel more confident about reaching out when something doesn't seem right and knowing what they can appropriately do to help.

Mental Health Advocates can also play an important role in creating environments where mental health is easier to talk about, challenging stigma and encouraging people to seek support earlier, so the training includes that

Ideal for: Anyone who wants greater confidence supporting others, including employees, managers, team leaders, volunteers and individuals within their communities

:

  • MWFR Certificate of Completion

  • Participant workbook/course materials

  • CARE quick-reference card

  • Practical take-away resources

  • Support and signposting information reviewed against current NHS and NICE guidance
